Rehabilitation
Project:
Restore integrity of containment area around piping and acid pumps.
Problem:
Ground water hydrostatic pressure had opened leaks in the containment area. The containment was also being attacked by chemical exposure.
Composite Solution:
Leaks were sealed by the injection of moisture cured urethane foam on 3′ centers around the perimeter. Coving was added on vertical surfaces. CFRP was installed to prevent future cracking. The final step added a coating for chemical protection.
Results:
Completely sealed containment area, restored concrete with chemically resistant coating for longer life.
